Feeling inspired…

As I scroll through a journal app on my phone, I am prompted to recall a recent moment that made me feel inspired.  Life has been incredibly busy lately, from working diligently on stitching projects to witnessing the excitement of the Boat Race near our home. Amidst all this, the clock sprung forward for daylight savings, and today marks the celebration of Easter.

One source of inspiration that stands out is a dear friend of mine who is a talented freelance botanical artist at Kew Gardens. Her name is Lucy T Smith. She recently accomplished a significant milestone by publishing her book titled ‘BOTANICAL SKETCHBOOKS: AN ARTIST’S GUIDE TO PLANT STUDIES’.

Eager to delve into her masterpiece, I have started reading it and found myself drawn to the idea of strolling through the scenic Kew Gardens.

Although the cherry blossoms had passed their prime, the vibrant array of flowers made me to want to stitch!

I couldn’t resist capturing their beauty through my camera lens, knowing that later on, I could translate these images into embroidery art. Here are some photos. Which one of these resonates with your creative spirit?

Any comments?
