Sophie Long‘s new book Ribbonwork Embroidery is out now. I’ve been waiting for this:)

Sophie is having a book launch at the Sunbury Embroidery Gallery on Sat 18th February from 11:00 to 14:00.
Sophie once gave us a special workshop as I organise a stitching group called Kew Stitch Club for Japanese community in my local area. We tried her lovely ribbonwork embroidery heart kit.
I could finish only half of the heart on the workshop day.
Then I tried to finish the other half on my own. It always helps to look at the photos Sophie provides us!
What a delightful design! I love the texture of silk ribbon, and especially variegated ribbon looks so beautiful…
Added the finishing touches with something sparkly. Sophie gave us sufficient spangles, but I used just a few to my liking. I just wanted a subtle sparkle.
